Vacuum forming is the process of making 3 dimensional parts from thermaoformable plastic sheet of varying thickness. Thin gauge is used for small parts and high volume ( packaging industry ) and heavy gauge is for larger parts and lower volume (Display and OEM industries). Formco's gauge range from .015" to .375".
